Medical Acupuncture (or Dry Needling) is a treatment technique using sterile, single-use, fine filament needles which are inserted into muscles to decrease pain and improve function.

Not to be confused with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) acupuncture, although there are similarities between the two techniques, Medical Acupuncture is based on western science with a detailed understanding of anatomy and physiology. TCM acupuncture focuses on treating medical conditions by restoring the flow of energy (Qi) through critical points in the body to restore balance.
